Stepping Stone (SA)’s Educational Leaders (EL) continued to access professional collaboration and networking opportunities through attending their term two EL meeting.
This meeting focused primarily on the revised Early Years Learning Framework (Version 2), with our Educational Leaders engaged in robust reflective discussions on the introduction of this revised document within their centres. With an emphasis on practice and curriculums informed by research and critical reflection, the ELs considered multiple perspectives and mentoring approaches for reconnecting and re-engaging with the framework.
Through these discussions, our mentors acknowledged the importance of their EL role in nurturing a positive culture of professional collaboration and development, as they support the improvement of practices and curriculums and promote greater outcomes for children, families and communities in response to the updated framework.
Within these meetings, our ELs have opportunities to hear inspiring Pedagogy and Practice stories from their colleagues. At this meeting we had one presentation, “Our Butterfly Journey”, a story of how one child 4 years ago, and a responsive team of educators, continue to foster meaningful emergent learning opportunities.
The EL presenting reflected on professional resilience and empowerment during challenging times, acknowledging realistic barriers for practice, yet ongoing perseverance of educators, and how her role supported this remarkable journey.
