Hello! I’m Melissa Alyward, and I’m proud to serve as the Child Care Director at Stepping Stone Brooklyn Park.
With over 36 years of experience in early childhood education and care, I have had the incredible privilege of working with children, families, and educators, creating nurturing and engaging environments that support the growth and development of young minds.
I deeply understand the importance of family and community in shaping a child’s journey. These personal experiences drive my professional approach, as I firmly believe that a strong, connected community is essential for every child’s success. At Stepping Stone Brooklyn Park, we work closely with families to ensure a collaborative, supportive environment where children can flourish.
A key value I hold dear is fostering a strong connection to the natural world. I believe that nature is one of the most profound teachers we can offer young children. That’s why at Stepping Stone Brooklyn Park, we embrace the outdoors as an integral part of our curriculum and daily routines. Whether it’s exploring our beautiful outdoor spaces or incorporating nature-based learning experiences, we aim to help children develop a lifelong appreciation for the environment around them.

I am passionate about ensuring that both children and staff are supported in a space where they can grow, learn, and thrive.
