At Stepping Stone Lockleys we have five rooms filled with an extensive range of educational resources. Our rooms have cross over ages to ensure that we are able to support the different stages of development for each individual child.

We have two lovely outdoor spaces both filled with a range of natural elements including rocks, sand, pebbles, bark and plants for the children to explore. We have a planting section which is filled with fruit trees, vegetable patch and flowers that the children maintain and where they develop a care for the environment.

Our curriculum is based on the Early Years Learning Framework ensuring all children are given the opportunity to develop and reach milestones at their own pace. We offer family-educator meetings and family input opportunities throughout the centre.

We have a yearly calendar that we encourage families and the community add to and be a part of. We embrace all cultural and traditional celebrations.

For children, Stepping Stone Lockleys will be a place of learning, a place for development and growth and a place where many memories will be made. We will ensure for families it is a place where communication is strong, a place of support and a home away from home for your children.

Meet the Centre Director

Hello, my name is Liz Starr and I am the Centre Director here at Stepping Stone Lockleys.  I would like to take this opportunity to tell you all a little about myself. I commenced working in the child care sector in 2006 where I began a traineeship at a service in the city. I completed my Certificate 3 in 2007 and stayed on at the service I was at until beginning my journey at Stepping Stone Angle Vale in January 2008 where I worked for 10.5 years.

In August 2015, I began my professional development as Assistant Director and now have been given the opportunity to be the Centre Director at Stepping Stone Lockleys Childcare & Early Development Centre which I am most grateful for.

I have a dog named Jedi who I love walking at the beach every chance I get, and spoil as much as possible. I enjoy all sport and have a passion for keeping children as active as possible through physical activities within the service. I believe being active makes a positive impact on a child’s development just as much as cognitive activities.

Here at Stepping Stone Lockleys we offer a warm, welcoming environment for all families and their children. We will take particular pride in making our Centre a safe and friendly place in which children can be stimulated and learn through play as they grow and develop. Our staff team will be enthusiastic, passionate and committed to providing your children with the best possible care.

I am very excited be Centre Director at Stepping Stone Lockleys and to be a part of a company that is South Australian owned and operated. I also appreciate any feedback from families with anything to help us continue providing the remarkable care that your child deserves.

I look forward to getting to know you and your wonderful children.
