About the centre

Stepping Stone Kidman Park Childcare & Early Development Centre is a purpose built facility, catering for 150 children aged from 6 weeks up to 6 years. Our facility is located on Grange Road, Kidman Park which is just a short commute to the CBD and close to local schools.

We have a team of passionate Educators who are very committed, caring, hardworking, welcoming and have your child’s best interests at heart.

We pride ourselves on being a Sun Smart Centre and encourage indoor – outdoor play at all times. All Children are treated equally with regard to religious persuasion, racial origin, additional needs and cultural backgrounds.

Within our service all programs are varied and reflect the Early Years Framework, our families, children and the community. The program is stimulating, engaging and one which enhances children’s learning and development.

We have a four week rotating healthy menu for the children to enjoy, which is continuously reviewed and updated seasonally to meet each child’s daily nutritional needs.

We look forward to caring for and educating your children in the very important early years of their lives.

We have 8 separate activity rooms all with outdoor environments which are safe and inviting with room for children to explore and play. This includes a separate 6 weeks to 14 months old room, where our babies have the opportunity to be nurtured and cared for in a loving environment.

Meet the Centre Director

Hi, my name is Julie Barnes and I am the Centre Director here at Stepping Stone Kidman Park.

I began my journey in early childhood education in 1990 and over the years I have worked in various roles ranging from Team Leader, Educational Leader and Assistant Director.

As an early childhood teacher, my passion has always been within the early years and I believe it is an important time for children as they begin to grow and discover the world around them. It is a joy to be part of so many children’s journeys each and every day.

As Centre Director, I believe the high importance of the relationships between the educator and parent and acknowledge the trust you put in us each and every day to look after your precious children. Our team will endeavour to develop meaningful relationships with the children in our care which ensures they feel safe and secure as they learn through play and investigation.

I am married with two children of my own, so I understand the precious gift families are giving the service by allowing us to be part of their child’s lives and trusting us to nurture and educate them.

I would like to take this opportunity to welcome you to our service and invite you to become part of our family. Please feel free to come and see for yourself just how we can support your little one to have the best possible start in life.
