The Educational Leaders met for a dynamic session of professional learning, continuing our commitment to providing meaningful development and networking opportunities across our services.
The group explored a range of topics central to high-quality educational practice, including a research-informed workshop on observation writing styles and documentation approaches. They also revisited the purpose and application of curriculum documentation, sharing intentional planning strategies that support a responsive, child-centred curriculum.
A presentation on the planning cycle, delivered by Educational Leader Gemma from our Rostrevor College Stepping Stone Early Learning Centre, offered further insight into how intentional, evidence-informed planning supports children’s learning and development through play-based approaches.

Educational Leaders then continued their ongoing exploration on relational leadership styles, reflecting on the connections between monitoring, mentoring, and coaching practices. They considered how strengths-based coaching interactions can be implemented and documented in ways that enrich mentoring cycles and demonstrate ongoing professional growth.
The session also engaged Educational Leaders with current research on reflection and critical reflection, leading to a collaborative brainstorming activity to inform future updates to curriculum tools and strengthen reflective practice across teams.
These collaborative sessions continue to highlight the value of shared learning, professional dialogue, and strong networks in enhancing educational leadership and improving outcomes for children and educators alike.
