What is the Flying Start program?
Flying Start is a South Australian Government initiative designed to strengthen the quality and equity of early learning for all children. The program delivers age-appropriate, play-based learning led by a qualified early childhood teacher, following the Early Years Learning Framework.
It is designed to support children’s development and ensure every three-year-old has access to high-quality early education, regardless of their background or circumstances.
What does Flying Start mean for families at these centres?
Families enrolled in the Flying Start program at a Stepping Stone partner centre will receive teacher-led, play-based preschool for their three-year-old, along with extra support for children and families where it is needed most.
As a partner service, our teachers and educators also have access to additional training and support through the program, which directly benefits the children in their care.
Enrolments for Term 3, 2026 are now open.
